Last trading day: Monday, 7 December
It was another down day for the Indian market which opened up soft and soon after fell to selling pressure, thus ending at the lowest point of the day. Weak global cues also had a negative impact on our markets. Sensex shut shop at 16983, down 118 points and Nifty at 5066, down 42 points from the previous close. CNX Midcap index was down 1% and BSE Smallcapindex was down 0.4%. The market breadth was negative with advances at 493 against declines of 778 on the NSE.  It was a disappointing day for the Indian market which opened up flat but later traded weak through the day, on the back of profit booking. Global cues were not supportive either.
